Lay Leadership Program

Promise Land Church of God is committed to the building of the Kingdom of God. We realize that in making this vision a reality we must make training and equipping of each member of laity our highest priority. Our vision and theme "Every Member A Minister" brings into light the awesome responsibility that is laid upon us as leaders to offer to our people programs that will give them the tools necessary for such growth.

Therefore, we have adopted the Lay Leadership Program to accomplish the training that is needed. This program is designed to motivate, train and equip laity for ministry, and will assist the Pastor in motivating and training lay leaders to live a distinctive Spirit-filled life of service and leadership. This exciting mentoring program will help establish a bond of loyalty and relationship of cooperation between the mentoring pastor and lay person.

The program is divided into two levels and each level lasts for six months.

Lay Leadership Development - Level One

In Level One, all lay leaders follow the same course of independent self-study. The pastor or designated mentor meets weekly with each lay person or with the group. Also, the Pastor will conduct one monthly seminar (on a Saturday) and teach the lay leaders specific topics that will strengthen them in their leadership skills.

Level Two - An Apprenticeship in the Christian Lifestyle and Ministry

After completing Level One, the lay leaders may choose to take Level Two. Level Two provides for a supervised apprenticeship in a specialized area of ministry. The lay leader may select from a list of areas of specialization on which to focus during Level Two. The following is a list of areas of specialization.

Children's Ministry

Men's Ministry

Counseling Ministry
